Com este trabalho, pretendo dar visibilidade à experiência do espaço na nossa paisagem, às suas características. Desafios para uns, paz para outros.
Será que a alma se sente quando o corpo está cheio? O que é isto que se sente mas não se vê? Que se experiencia mas não se mede. Preenche e ocupa o espaço, torna-se tangível quando algo está fora do sítio. Vejo uma imagem de um vestido/camisola/casaco de malha, feito com lã local, numa cor profunda com pequenas peças coloridas de malha a sair por todo o lado, e um outro com franjas coloridas a sair das costuras das mangas. Inspirado pelas bandeiras de oração que vi há muito tempo durante a minha viagem pela Rússia. No interior da Sibéria, junto ao lago Baikal, onde, na beira dos penhascos, se erguiam filas de postes com milhares de pedaços de tecido colorido a mexer-se ao vento. Ou a falar com os espíritos, conforme a perspetiva. Um lugar onde o invisível se tornava visível. Esta cena era de uma beleza incrível.
Anna trabalhará em estreita colaboração com a comunidade durante a sua residência artística na Cultivamos Cultura e oferecerá um encontro semanal para entusiastas da cor, agulha e linha, onde explicará duas técnicas simples de tricô com as quais se poderá mergulhar no infinito mundo da cor.
With this piece I intend to bring visibility to the experience of space in our landscape, its characteristics. Challenges for some, peace for others.
Can the soul be felt when the body is full? What is this that can be felt but not seen? Experienced but not measured. Fills and takes in space, becomes tangible when something is out of place. I see an image of a knitted dress/sweater/coat made with local wool, in a deep color with small knitted colorful pieces coming out of it everywhere, a different one with colorful fringes flowing out of the seams at the arms. Inspired by prayer flags I saw a long time ago on my trip through Russia. Deep in Siberia, by lake Baikal, where on the edge of the cliffs stood a row of poles with thousands of pieces of colorful cloth moving in the wind. Or speaking to the spirits, however you want to look at it. A place where the invisible was made visible. This scene was so incredibly beautiful.
Anna will work closely with the community during her artistic residency at Cultivamos Cultura and will offer a weekly meetup for color, needle and thread enthusiasts where she will explain two simple knitting techniques with which you can dive into the infinite world of color.
