PT// Espetáculo VIAGEM A PORTUGAL – PARAGEM ALENTEJO, uma peça de teatro documental do Teatro do Vestido com direcção artística de Joana Craveiro.

 Nesta sua paragem a sul do projecto Viagem a Portugal (nome que pedimos emprestado a José Saramago), os viajantes do Teatro do Vestido procuram, como quem escava, num vasto território entre Santiago do Cacém e Odemira. Pessoas, nomes, histórias e objectos desfilam diante destes viajantes, que tornam tudo isso parte de um percurso que procura contar algumas das histórias de vida, das memórias e da geografia destes lugares. 
Como quem escava, e nesse escavar vai descobrindo mais e mais camadas, sem nunca chegar a bater no fundo, a chegar à rocha debaixo disto tudo. 
Quantas camadas precisamos de escavar/ decapar até nos sentirmos parte de um território? 
O viajante de que José Saramago fala na sua Viagem a Portugal interroga-se sobre a sua razão para viajar. Todos os viajantes o fazem, e, no entanto, a própria viagem os ofusca sempre. No corpo a corpo dos quilómetros percorridos, a viagem ganha. 
Nesta Viagem a Portugal do Teatro do Vestido, a viagem torna-se presença, inscrita na paisagem num espectáculo em percurso, fruto da relação de pesquisa e de permanência no terreno, e de criação de laços humanos, que nos permitam saber e conhecer histórias e poder recontá-las sob forma de teatro.

In this southern stop of the project Viagem a Portugal (a name we borrowed from José Saramago), the travelers of Teatro do Vestido search, like those who dig, in a vast territory between Santiago do Cacém and Odemira. People, names, stories, and objects parade in front of these travelers, who make it all part of a journey that tries to tell some of the life stories, the memories, and the geography of these places.
Like someone who digs, and in this digging discovers more and more layers, without ever reaching the bottom, the rock underneath it all.
How many layers do we need to excavate/ strip away before we feel part of a territory?
The traveller José Saramago talks about in his Journey to Portugal wonders about his reason for travelling. All travellers do it, and yet the journey itself always overshadows them. In the body to body of the kilometres travelled, the journey wins.
In this Journey to Portugal, from Teatro do Vestido, the journey becomes presence, inscribed in the landscape in a performance in a journey, fruit of the research relationship and of permanence in the field, and of the creation of human bonds, that allow us to know and to know stories and be able to retell them in the form of theatre.
