O CINEMA FULGOR é um cinema com raízes móveis, itinerante pela constelação espacial do Baixo Alentejo. Cinema composto e semente, pretende participar na construção de uma ruralidade viva e autónoma, convocar e nutrir as diversas e dispersas comunidades, propondo o cinema enquanto experiência comunal e ecológica.

Inspirando-se nas paisagens megalíticas do Senegal e da Gâmbia, nos detritos espaciais, na arqueologia, na astronomia, na numerologia, na teologia e nas visões africanas do cosmos, Mamelles Ancestrales procura estabelecer ligações num mundo onde os corpos celestes, a vida mineral e os espíritos cantam em uníssono. Recolhendo histórias dos guardiões dos sítios, das populações locais e outras perspectivas de astrónomos, arqueólogos e teólogos para desvendar os mistérios dos milhares de círculos de pedra espalhados pelo Senegal e pela Gâmbia, Mamelles Ancestrales parte em busca de uma antiga civilização megalítica africana, a fim de melhor compreender a nossa.

Sete anos de gravações de campo celestiais recolhidas do caos do cosmos e gravadas em película de 16 mm em vários locais desta Terra giratória. Esta obra não é nem uma metáfora nem um símbolo, mas sim uma aproximação a um facto na névoa da perceção, por onde o tempo flui. As gravações naturais de rádio VLF da magnetosfera em acção permitem que o universo fale por si mesmo.
No rastilho do Solstício de Verão, o Cinema Fulgor invoca ligações entre o céu e a terra, entre os vivos e os mortos, em contemplação da luz e da escuridão cósmica com Mamelles Ancestrales, de Tabita Rezaire, e Observando el Cielo, de Jeanne Liotta.

Drawing inspiration from the megalithic landscapes of Senegal and the Gambia, space debris, archaeology, astronomy, numerology, theology and African understandings of the cosmos, Mamelles Ancestrales strives to establish pathways in a world where celestial bodies, mineral life and spirits sing together. Gathering stories from the guardians of the sites, local populations and other understandings from astronomers, archeologists, and theologians to unfold the mysteries of the thousands of stone circles scattered across Senegambia, Mamelles Ancestrales goes in pursuit of an ancient African megalithic civilization so as to better understand our own.

Seven years of celestial field recordings gathered from the chaos of the cosmos and inscribed onto 16mm film from various locations upon this turning tripod Earth. This work is neither a metaphor nor a symbol, but is feeling towards a fact in the mist of perception, which time flows through. Natural VLF radio recordings of the magnetosphere in action allow the universe to speak for itself.
In the wake of the Summer Solstice, Cinema Fulgor invokes the bonds between sky and earth, between the living and the dead, in contemplation of the light and the cosmic darkness with Mamelles Ancestrales, by Tabita Rezaire, and Observando el Cielo, by Jeanne Liotta.
