PLANTAR AFECTOS_São Luís é um projecto de criação colectiva da artista Mariana Dias Coutinho, que envolve escolas e comunidade local num processo participativo e interdisciplinar. Inspirado no Atlas Mnemosyne de Aby Warburg, propõe um encontro poético com a paisagem, as plantas e as suas dimensões simbólicas e medicinais. O projecto promove a aproximação ao território e o fortalecimento de uma cultura de cuidar, através da partilha, da colaboração e da aprendizagem colectiva.

Mariana Dias Coutinho nasceu em Lisboa e vive em Santa Clara-a-Velha (Odemira).O seu trabalho entrelaça escultura, instalação site-specific e práticas colaborativas numa reflexão sobre como habitamos e nos relacionamos com o mundo. Guiada pela atenção ao material – a sua memória, sabedoria e potencial de conexão –, envolve-se com os recursos locais e o artesanato tradicional como atos de cuidado e pertença. Enraizada nas paisagens e comunidades de Odemira, participa em iniciativas ecológicas e coletivas como SOS RIO MIRA, ALDEIAS À VISTA e GUARDIÕES DO MIRA.
A sua prática transita entre o poético e o político, procurando ouvir, reparar e imaginar novas formas de estar com o mundo mais-que-humano.

PLANTAR AFECTOS_São Luís is a collective creation project by artist Mariana Dias Coutinho, involving schools and the local community in a participatory and interdisciplinary process. Inspired by Aby Warburg’s Mnemosyne Atlas, it proposes a poetic encounter with the landscape, plants and their symbolic and medicinal dimensions. The project promotes a closer relationship with the territory and strengthens a culture of care through sharing, collaboration and collective learning.

Mariana Dias Coutinho work weaves sculpture, site-specific installation, and collaborative practices into a reflection on how we inhabit and relate to the world. Guided by attention to material—its memory, wisdom, and potential for connection—she engages with local resources and traditional crafts as acts of care and belonging. Rooted in the landscapes and communities of Odemira, she takes part in ecological and collective initiatives such as SOS RIO MIRA, ALDEIAS À VISTA, and GUARDIÕES DO MIRA. Her practice moves between the poetic and the political, seeking to listen, repair, and imagine new ways of being with the more-than-human world.
The OaSis consortium and host institutions
The project is created by the unique consortium of almost 20 diverse institutions – including NGOs, culture institutions, municipalities and a university. Open Art Spaces (OASis) in Action combines 13 interdisciplinary art venues in 10 countries (Armenia, Belgium, France, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia and Slovenia) that reflect the modern model of the open art center which merges local context with international art exchange.
