PT// Numa cultura hipersaturada por imagens electrónicas, utilizo os materiais tradicionais de uma caneta de pena e de um frasco de tinta para criar imagens em grande escala que insistem em explorar e reivindicar o processo subtecnológico de observação e criação de marcas. No meu trabalho recente, estou a criar representações em tamanho real de figuras e objectos. Existe uma relação vital que surge entre o observador e o observado numa escala de um para um. A prestidigitação ou desleixo da mão cria uma superfície estranha e íntima que é agravada pelo processo definitivo e energético de cross hatching.
Os meus temas incluem a banalidade dos artefactos domésticos produzidos em massa; a política da guerra; identidade e poder sexual; e a beleza revelada no exame minucioso das estruturas naturais e artificiais. Esta diversidade de temas é um elemento crítico na minha tentativa de expressar a complexidade e a variedade da vida contemporânea.

Linder nasceu e foi criada no subúrbio de Nova York. Mora com humanos e não-humanos em Buffalo, professora de arte na Universidade de Buffalo SUNY, ela é representada pela Cristin Tierney Gallery em Nova York.
EN// In culture hyper-saturated by electronic imagery I use the traditional materials of a quill pen and a bottle of ink to create large-scale images that persist in exploring and claiming the sub-technological process of observation and mark making. In my recent work I am creating life size representation of figures and objects. There is a vital relationship that arises between the observer and the observed on a scale of one to one. The sleight or sloppiness of hand creates an awkward and intimate surface which is compounded by the definitive and energized process of cross hatching.
My subjects include the banality of mass produced domestic artifacts; the politics of war; sexual identity and power; and the beauty disclosed in the close scrutiny of natural and man made structures. This diversity of subject matter is a critical element in my attempt to express the complexity and variety of contemporary life.

Linder was born and bred in suburban New York. She lives with humans and non-humans in Buffalo, A Professor of Art at University at Buffalo SUNY, she is represented by Cristin Tierney Gallery in NYC.
