Como estes filmes estão fora do mainstream, são muitas vezes difíceis de serem financiados. Mas não deixe que isso o impeça. Iremos falar sobre formas inventivas de tornar a sua visão uma realidade.

BIO

A formação de Jim começou com fotografia e design gráfico e, mais tarde, com cinema na Irlanda. Em 1938, com a sua parceira de design Joan Ross, foi incumbido de documentar o afluxo de refugiados do Sudeste Asiático em Massachusetts. O resultado foram dois livros, “Southeast Asians: A New Beginning in Lowell” e “Fractured Identites: Cambodia’s Children of War”. Também resultou numa amizade para toda a vida com Tim Thou, fundador do Angkor Dance Troupe. Em 2006, membros da Trupe juntaram-se a Jim num novo empreendimento, Flying Orb Productions, produzindo filmes alternativos e espectáculos de teatro.

Jim’s background began in photography and graphic design and later with filmmaking in Ireland. In 1938, with design partner Joan Ross, he was commissioned to document the influx of Southeast Asian refugees in Massachusetts. This resulted in two books, Southeast Asians: A New Beginning in Lowell and Fractured Identites: Cambodia’s Children of War. It also resulted in a life long friendship with Tim Thou, founder of the Angkor Dance Troupe. In 2006, members of the Troupe joined Jim in a new endeavor, Flying Orb Productions, producing alternative films and theater performances.
