PT// O TEATRO SÓ é uma companhia de teatro portuguesa sediada em Odemira (Portugal) e Berlim (Alemanha) a desenvolver um trabalho multidisciplinar relacionando técnica de máscara, teatro físico, artes circenses e artes plásticas. Todas estas componentes convergem para um teatro imagético, mudo, visualmente poético em que a comunicação entre os atores e o público converge para a potência do gesto.

Os temas em cena tocam diretamente os estigmas sociais, transversais a diversas culturas e gerações, nos quais o público é testemunha de si mesmo, não pelo uso da palavra, mas pela poesia visual e linguagem emocional do corpo. Esta aparente modéstia do TEATRO SÓ salienta a própria simplicidade da condição humana, uma fragilidade radical que qualquer um está qualificado para sentir independentemente da nação, da religião ou da condição social. 

Seguindo um estilo de encenação que tem sido característico do TEATRO SÓ, “SOMBRAS” propõe uma reflexão sobre o mundo emocional de uma vítima de violência doméstica. Sendo o teatro de rua por natureza acessível e popular, a direção artística, contudo, sempre optou pela abordagem de temas de difícil teor de entretenimento e socialmente estigmatizados, procurando trazer uma dimensão pedagógica e redentora. 

EN// Teatro SÓ TEATRO SÓ is a Portuguese theatre company based in Odemira (Portugal) and Berlin (Germany) developing a multidisciplinary work relating to mask technique, physical theatre, circus arts and plastic arts. All these components converge into an imagetic, silent, visually poetic theatre in which the communication between actors and audience converges into the power of gesture.

The themes on stage directly touch on social stigmas, transversal to various cultures and generations, in which the audience is witness to itself, not by the use of words, but by the visual poetry and emotional language of the body. This apparent modesty of TEATRO SÓ highlights the very simplicity of the human condition, a radical fragility that anyone is qualified to feel regardless of nation, religion or social condition.

Following a staging style that has been characteristic of TEATRO SÓ, “SOMBRAS” proposes a reflection on the emotional world of a victim of domestic violence. Being the street theatre by nature accessible and popular, the artistic direction, however, has always opted for the approach of difficult entertaining and socially stigmatized themes, trying to bring a pedagogical and redeeming dimension.
