Como resultado da pandemia do COVID-19 e as atividades adiadas, o Biofriction criou uma série de grupos de trabalho ( Non Living Queerings, Aero-sol-nauts, Phagelogies e Art Shows and Public Health) e eventos online, com diferentes datas como forma de estimular um debate informado acerca da situação atual e dos possíveis cenários futuros.

O que significa agir de forma a “aplanar” a curva construída matematicamente? Parece um pouco reminiscente desejar pela melhor versão do presente. Qual é o papel da arte na desconstrução e compreensão do agora? Como é que a arte pode mobilizar uma melhor compreensão para a incerteza do futuro? Como é que as organizações artísticas se podem preparar para responder a este possível pêndulo de surtos cíclicos? Que parcerias podem ser consolidadas neste contexto de uma vida, morte e desconforto precário?

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and postponed activities, Biofriction has set up a a series of Working Groups (Non Living Queerings, Aero-sol-nauts, Phagelogies and Art Shows and Public Health) and online events to instigate an informed discussion on current situation and possible scenarios.

What does it mean to be acting in accordance with to “flatten” the mathematically constructed curve? Speculatively, it seems a little reminiscent of aspiring for the best possible version of the present. What is the role of art in the unpacking/understanding of the now? How can art mobilise a better understanding of possible futures? How can art spaces be prepared to respond to this possible pendulum of cyclical outbreaks? What alliances can be woven in this context of precariousness, life, death, and malaise?
