«Havres Gardés» é um jardim digital. É uma instalação imersiva e interativa que adquire diferentes formas, dependendo de onde se encontra. Ao percorrer diferentes sítios coleciono plantas para as “digitalizar” através de desenhos animados, fotografia ou scan 3D. Depois utilizo esta informação para criar hologramas, transformando as plantas que apanhei em fantasmas digitais, que se encontram num espaço entre a escultura e plantas secas, criando sombras. A instalação, que ainda é um projeto em andamento, procura ser um espaço de descanso e simultaneamente um convite a um pensamento coletivo ativo. Também penso neste trabalho como um templo de natureza pós apacalíptico, considerando que a instalação se pode tornar num meio informativo, ou uma relíquia sem corpo daquilo que a flora costuma ser outrora.

«Havres Gardés» is a digital garden. It is an immersive and interactive installation that takes different shapes depending of where it is. As I am staying somewhere to work, I’m picking plants to “digitalize” them through animated drawings, photography or 3D scan. I then use this content to create an hollographic projection, transforming the plants I picked up into digital ghosts, placing them in the space in between sculpture or dried plants, creating shadows. The installation, which is still a work in progress, aims at being at the same time a resting place and an active collective thinking invitation. I also think this work as a post apocalyptic nature temple, considering that the installation could be later an informative media, or a non physical relic of what our flora used to be.

Utiliza várias representações da natureza e do corpo humano para explorar e questionar o lugar da humanidade, entre a natureza e a cultura. Ultimamente, o seu trabalho enquanto artista visual, artista de vídeo e performer tem sido exposto internacionalmente em Budapeste (Trafo, House of Contemporary Art), Bruxelles (Cinéma Le Nova, Nico Matcha Gallery), Paris (Le Wonder, Carbon17), Berlim (Fashion Week SS2018), México (TTT2018) e Nova Iorque (Queens Museum, Wild Embeddings Gallery, The Ear, Grace Exhibition Space).

Kim Doan Quoc is a multimedia artist from Lille, France. For the last years, she has been working between Budapest, Hungary, and New York City, USA. Her work evolves between video, installations, performances and photography. Kim uses various representations of nature and the human body to explore and question the place of humanity between nature and culture.
For the last few years, her work as a visual artist, video artist and performer has been shown internationally in Budapest (Trafo, House of Contemporary Art), Bruxelles (Cinéma Le Nova, Nico Matcha Gallery), Paris (Le Wonder, Carbon17), Berlin (Fashion Week SS2018), Mexico City (TTT2018) and New York City (Queens Museum, Wild Embeddings Gallery, The Ear, Grace Exhibition Space).
