Carolyn Angelton visited our Summer school 2015 and also did her art residency in Cultivamos Cultura!
Carolyn Angleton grew up in Ft. Collins, Colorado, USA. She received her BFA in printmakingfrom Colorado State University, in Fort Collins, Colorado; and her MFA in ceramics from RhodeIsland School of Design, in Providence, Rhode Island. Ms. Angleton has held a professorship inart at Sierra College, in Rocklin, CA from 1997-2012. She directed the bronze casting foundry atCalifornia State University, Fresno from 2006-09. She has taught Sculpture, Drawing, CriticalTheory and Feminist’s Studies at the university level in California since 1989.
Ms. Angleton’s work has been shown throughout California and nationally, including shows atthe Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, National Museum for Women and theArts in Washington D.C., the Fresno Art Museum, Fresno, CA, the Crocker Art Museum inSacramento, CA and the Oceanside Museum of Art in Oceanside, CA. She has doneresidencies at the Djerassi Resident Program in Woodside, CA, the wet lab at the School forVisual Arts in NYC,, and at Cultivamos Cultura, in Sao Luis, Portugal. She is a member of MyrtlePress at the Verge Center for Arts in Sacramento. She lives with her two children in the northernfoothills of California, where she creates prints, bio-art, mixed media sculptures, and develops/ maintains gardens.
